Controversy, Mystery, and Bob Probert
Ok. Back at it after a little delay. Cathy had her last homework during the Bears game this weekend. She got 2 gold stars and 1 silver star. She gave me "The Handy Sports Answer Book" for my birthday. So the questions may get a little harder. Now for her next assignment.
1) What is the controversy over NBA basketballs?
2) AP, Coaches, and Harris are all what? What makes them different?
3) Name 3 of the best hockey players of all time
ex) What number has been retired by every MLB team? Why?
-----------------Cathy's Answers-------------------------
1.) The controversy over the NBA basketball is that the players were not
asked about their feelings about the change and what they thought. The
basketball is going from leather to a sythetic material with a worse grip
when the ball gets wet.
2.) AP, Coaches, and Harris are all polles. AP is the Associated Press poll,
Coaches, well are coaches, and the Harris is a Poll that noone really knows
what is it, but so you know I looked it up is this is what I found in a
nutshell on their wrbsite, they poll everyone on everything, including
sports, politics and anything else you can think to have a poll about.
3.) Bob Probert played for the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks,
Wayne Gretsky "The Great One" is also known as the greatest player of all
time and played for Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, and
the New York Rangers, Bobby Orr played for Boston Bruins and
Chicago Black Hawks, and Mario Lemieux played for Pittsburgh Penguins. Just
so you know they are all Canadians.
4.) 42, Jackie Robinson - because he was the first black man to play MLB
-----------------Grade-------------------------
Hmmmm. You get a 98. Too bad that it's out of 43,984. I do know what the harris poll is. I thought I told you durning the wedding. You must have been sloshed on pear brandy. http://www.harrisinteractive.com/news/bcspoll.asp look under "Poll Methodology & Process". For #3 i would have accepted Jeremy Roenick, Eddie Belfore, and Chris Chelios. Especially Roenick because he can make a guys head bleed in NHL 95. (Extra points next assignment if you get that movie reference)

Banco Popular - Ay Ay Ay
Sorry for the delay. Here is you next homework.
1) What did you think of the Bears last Sunday.
2) Who are they playing this weekend?
3) Who is no longer with the Cubs?
4) What did Albert Haynesworth do that got him in trouble?
And in response to your begging for extra credit. Here you go.
ex. What overall place did I finish in the Chicago Banco Popular Half-Marathon?
--------------------Cathy's Answers--------------
1.)I could not believe that they beat Seattle!!! After the Seattle/New York
game and the way the guys were talking at work, I thought we'd be creamed!!!
The Bears won 37-6!!!
2.) The Bears are playing the Bills, at noon!! I'll be at your house!
3.) Dusty is no longer with the Cubs, "he didn't get the job done!" But he's
come the closest!
4.) He stomped on Andre Gurode head, and Gurode did not have a helmet on.
Haynesworth has been suspended 5 games, the longest punishment for an
onfield act. Which I think he should. What was he thinking!!!
EC: You finished overall. . . 4097, but in your age group 450. You did the
race in 2:04:57!!! I'm so proud. And then there's TJ. . .he ended up 1260
and 180 in your age group at 1:46:48!!! It would take me days to finish!!!!
--------------------Grade-------------------------
Execellent work! You missed that fact that Andy McPhail is gone too. But you got the extra credit correct. You get 3 gold stars and a little elephant sticker.
